The express cleaning routine: a clean house in 15 min/day

No more exhausting big cleaning on Saturday. By doing a little every day, the house always stays presentable.

Recommended Materials

  • Timer
  • Laundry basket
  • Microfiber cloth

Steps to follow

Step 1

The principle (FlyLady): Do not seek perfection, seek regularity. A house 'clean enough' all the time is better than a house 'perfect' once a month and messy the rest of the time. The secret is to do a very little every day.

Step 2

Morning Routine (5 min flat): Air the bedroom when getting up. Make your bed IMMEDIATELY (it changes the look of the room instantly). Empty the dishwasher while the coffee is brewing.

Step 3

Evening Routine (10-15 min):

Step 4

1. The owner's tour (5 min): Take an empty laundry basket. Go around the living room and kitchen. Pick up everything that is not in its place. Put each object back in its place or leave it in the basket to sort later.

Step 5

2. Shiny sink (Shine your sink): This is the golden rule. Never go to bed with dirty dishes or a greasy sink. The sink must be empty, clean and wiped. It is the smile of the kitchen that welcomes you the next morning.

Step 6

3. Quick sponge wipe: Wipe the worktop and dining table with a sponge.

Step 7

4. Preparation for tomorrow: Prepare your clothes, school bags, and set the breakfast table.

Step 8

Weekly tasks (Zone Cleaning): Instead of doing 4 hours of cleaning on Saturday, do 15 min per day in a specific zone. Monday: Bathroom thoroughly. Tuesday: Living room dust. Wednesday: Kids' rooms... Set a timer for 15 min. When it rings, stop!
